One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash late Saturday that closed a portion of Route 83 in the town of Arkwright for several hours.

A Chautauqua County coroner was requested at the scene of the crash, reported around 10:40 p.m. at Route 83 and Center Road.

At least four injuries were reported. Forestville, Cassadaga, Silver Creek, Sheridan Fire Departments and Chautauqua County EMS responded, according to county scanner reports from the evening.

Three medical helicopters were requested at the scene.

Route 83 was closed for accident reconstruction team members to investigate the crash. The road reopened sometime before 4 a.m.
