Fire trucks from both East Dunkirk and West Dunkirk could be seen on Central Avenue on Friday morning during the funeral for Dunkirk town Supervisor Richard Purol that was held at McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Purol, who also was a volunteer firefighter, died Monday in Brooks-TLC Hospital System. Earlier this month, Purol was in attendance to receive honors for more than 50 years of Service at the East Dunkirk Fire Department banquet.
