FORESTVILLE — At a recent Board of Education meeting, Forestville Middle/High School Principal Dan Grande shared positive test results with the board.

Among the students in the district who took State Regents Exams this winter, all of the students received passing grades. English regents scores ranged from 85-96, with 80 percent of students passing with distinction.

“We did not have any student that didn’t get a regents credit this past January, so there won’t be any retakes for those students come June. We’re really pleased about that,” Grande said.

With regrets, the district accepted the resignation for the purpose of retirement of AIS teacher Janet Buehler and Elementary Teacher Peggy Prince, effective June 30.

The district also welcomed a new English Language Arts teacher for the Middle/High School, as Elizabeth Matteson was approved by the board to a four-year probationary position in the English tenure area.

Nicole Barlow and Regan Walton were also approved as uncertified teacher substitutes. Barlow was also approved as a student teacher through March 17 under the direction of Sarah Borrello.

The next meeting of the Forestville Board of Education will be March 9 at 6 p.m., immediately after a budget workshop at 5:30 p.m.

Starting at $3.50/week.
