Silver Creek accepts bids for capital work

SILVER CREEK — Improvements are on the way for the Silver Creek Central School District. Silver Creek approved the winning bids for the 2022 Capital Improvements Project at a recent Board of Education meeting.

The 2022 Capital Improvements Project is highlighted by the construction a new athletic track. The goal is to have the track completed by next school year, with construction beginning in the spring and concluding over the summer.

For the 2022 Capital Improvements Project, Highland Acres Landscaping of Hamburg submitted the lowest responsible bid of $709,600, along with a change order of $70,640, for site construction. The general construction bid was awarded to NCI Construction of Lancaster with a bid of $97,300, along with a change order of $22,258. The electrical construction bid was awarded to BECC Electric of Fredonia with a bid of $81,600, along with a change order of $23,000.

Also approved, for the 2022-2023 Capital Outlay Exception Project, the mechanical construction bid was awarded to J.W. Danforth of Tonawanda, NY in the amount of $97,400.

All of the bids were opened on Dec. 7 and were unanimously accepted by the board.

The district also approved the Smart Schools Bond Act plan. It will be posted on the district website for a 30-day public review period.
