A popular waterfront restaurant has closed its doors — temporarily — in the city of Dunkirk.

On Sunday afternoon, Demetri’s on the Lake noted on its Facebook page that it would “be closed until further notice. … We will see you soon with our new grand opening.” An advertisement in Monday’s OBSERVER noted the site will be “under new management” soon.

For many customers, the closing came suddenly. An empty parking lot during the day at the restaurant was a strange site.
