Silver Creek grants tenure to five teachers

Five Silver Creek teachers received tenure at a recent Board of Education meeting: Megan Kucharski, Mary Beth Chesbro, Maxine Meyerhofer, Samantha McMullen, and Stephanie Sauda.

SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Central School District granted tenure to five of its teachers at a recent Board of Education meeting.

Megan Kucharski, Mary Beth Chesbro, Maxine Meyerhofer, Samantha McMullen, and Stephanie Sauda have all satisfied the requirements of their probationary appointments as teachers in the district. All five teachers will begin their tenured positions with the district in September.

Kucharski, a Silver Creek High School teacher, holds initial certification in Biology for grades 7-12. Chesbro, McMullen, Meyerhofer, and Sauda are all Silver Creek Elementary School teachers.

The district offered its congratulations to the five teachers on social media, which received more than 50 comments and nearly 200 interactions over the weekend.

Also at the recent meeting of the Board of Education, the district accepted the resignation of Social Studies teachers Andrew Kruszka and Andrew Ginsburg, along with Teaching Assistant Michael Schneider. The probationary employment of Tiffany LeMoine, Teacher Aide, was terminated. Kailey Kline was appointed as a non-certified substitute, while Mike Pantano was appointed as a substitute bus driver. Elementary School Assistant Principal Shannon Matson was appointed as UPK Grant Coordinator.

The district also appointed Delia Bonenberger to serve as Acting Superintendent for the district from Tuesday at midnight until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 30. Incoming Superintendent Katie Ralston will take over on July 1.
