Silver Creek re-elects Howard, Bogosian

SILVER CREEK — Although there is a change in superintendent of Schools at Silver Creek, the Board of Education hierarchy will remain the same.

Martha Howard was re-elected as the district’s Board of Education President. Matt Bogosian was also re-elected as Board of Education Vice President. Additionally, re-elected board member Gregory Cole and new Superintendent Dr. Katie Ralston each took their official oath of office.

The Board of Education also re-appointed Emily Cole as District Clerk; Gregory Cole as Legislative Liaison; and designated its board committee members. The district also opened the 30-day public comment period of the District Safety Plan.

Kevin Rice was appointed as High School Dean of Students, while Amy Bartell was appointed as Middle School Dean of Students.

Sean Helmer was also re-appointed as Director of Athletics, with many familiar coaches re-appointed, as well. Among the notable returning varsity coaches includes Helmer as football coach; Ralph Jackson as boys basketball coach; Kevin Rice as girls basketball coach; and Mike Janisch as boys baseball coach.

The district also authorized an agreement to continue to employ a School Resource Officer, through June 30, 2024, in the amount of $104,125.
