SISTER ACT: Pair has strong showing at Eastern Horse Classic event

Last month, sisters Ashley and Alana Holt competed in the Arabian Horse Association of New York annual Eastern Classic Horse Show at the Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg. Alana and her horse Maddie competed in the Junior and Amateur Divisions. Ashley also competed in the Amateur Division with her horse Pipper.
Over the course of the weekend Alana and Maddie won blue ribbons in the Junior Equitation class and the Junior Hunter Pleasure 15- to 18-year-old class. In addition, Alana captured the Junior High Point title which is awarded to the junior rider who accumulates the most class points for the show.
Ashley and Alana competed together in the Amateur Division for purebred Arabian horses.
This Division is open to competitors of all ages. Alana and Maddie again received the blue ribbon score in the Hunter Pleasure class. Finishing right behind them in second place were Ashley and Pipper.
The championship on Saturday in the Amateur Hunter Pleasure class had Ashley and Alana competing together once again. The results of this class had Alana and Maddie winning the title of Grand Champions with Ashley and Pipper finishing strong and winning the Reserve Grand Champions title for the show.
