Continuity is a theme on the Fredonia Board of Education, as the same group of board members will remain with the same leader in place for the upcoming 2023-24 school year.

Brian Aldrich was re-elected as President of the Fredonia Board of Education at the district's annual organizational meeting. Also remaining in the same roles are Vice President Steve Johnston, District Clerk Christine Slagle, and Sheila Hahn as Legislative Liaison.

The district also will continue to rotate members to attend Erie 2 BOCES meetings as liaisons for the district.

"In the past, we have taken turns on this, and I have always found it very interesting to go to our BOCES meetings," Aldrich said.

Among the committee appointments, the appointments that featured the most discussion was the Facilities Committee, which will consist of Johnston, Gullo, and Tom Hawk. "Facilities is a big area of interest in the upcoming year for all of us," Gullo said.

Superintendent Brad Zilliox added, "A lot of the work with Facilities this year will be done by the Building Conditions Survey, which will be something that will be public and open. I don't want anyone to think they will be in the dark on that."

Regular meetings of the Board of Education will continue to be held on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month, unless otherwise designated.
