A Saturday, Aug. 19 benefit at Bart's Cove in Dunkirk will go toward kids with cancer.
The 2023 Gifts of Hope and Love benefit will be from noon to 10:30 p.m. Bart's Cove is located at 1/2 Woodrow Ave.
A bevy of musicians will play and more than 150 prizes will be up for grabs in raffles. Face painting will be available for the kids and the young at heart. A couple of food trucks are scheduled to stop by. Superheroes from the Justice League of WNY are also set to swoop in from 3 to 7 p.m.
Bands on the set list include Furious George (1 to 3 p.m.), Country star from Nashville Jillian Eliza 3 to 7 p.m., Ion Sky 7 to 10 p.m. and Melissa Sauers 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Benefit organizer Richard Kozlowski, of Fredonia, states 100% of proceeds will help children with cancer.
Gifts of Hope and Love donates Christmas presents to children in the Courage for Carly support program at Buffalo's Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Surplus proceeds benefit pediatric support programs and research at the hospital.
"I was inspired to get directly involved with Roswell Park Cancer Institute after my father Richard Kozlowski Sr passed away from cancer years ago," Kozlowski said. "Although my father lived long past his childhood, I am determined to do what I can help children battling this terrible disease."
