Range Ranch hosts second therapy event
Trending
Range Ranch, LLC, recently hosted their second equine therapy event on Saturday, Oct. 7.
The first inaugural session was held over Labor Day weekend at the Ranch's "farmhouse" located just outside Fredonia's town limits in Pomfret. The October event was held on the larger property known as "The Ranch," also in Pomfret.
In spite of a little rain, the afternoon was successful. The indoor paddock allowed the veterans to interact with horses under the care of National Equine Institute of Growth through Healing (N.E.I.G.H), located in Bemus Point. Their certified professional staff helps participants gain insight into their own specific symptoms of trauma while acquiring powerful tools and strategies that can be used in their daily lives.
Participants were registered through the Veterans Affairs Western New York Health Care System, coordinated through the Recreation Therapy Supervisor. In addition to the companionship of horses, veterans enjoyed good food and a warm fire while socializing and supporting one another.
Although a closed event, family members of the veterans were invited.
Range Ranch remains committed to provide our military veterans (and first responders) a peaceful environment to help meet their specific needs. They look forward to many future events. For more information go to rangeranch.com.
