Fiery crash quickly extinguished early Monday in village

A fiery car crash occurred early this morning in the village of Fredonia after a high-speed chase that began in Dunkirk. According to a witness, the car crashed near One Temple Square and burst into flames. Two police officers jumped into the burning car and rescued a victim, who was taken with non-life threatening injuries to Brooks-TLC Hospital in Dunkirk. A witness said the car appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed south on Central Avenue and did not stop at the Temple Street and Central Avenue intersection. Firefighters were on scene soon after and quickly extinguished the blaze. According to scanner reports, the incident occurred before 2 a.m. and both Fredonia Police and Fire Department responded as well as Dunkirk Police.
