The Michael Boedo Community foundation gave thanks to two local fire departments. The foundation presented The Silver Creek and The Sunset Bay Fire departments with plaques and a monetary donation to say thank you for all that they do in the community. The Michael Boedo community foundation was founded in 2017 after Michael Boedo tragically passed from an accidental overdose. Since then the foundation raises funds to give scholarships to students in Silver Creek, Forestville and Gowanda Schools. The foundation also helps other local nonprofits and sponsors local youth recreation programs. The goal of the Michael Boedo Foundation is to help raise awareness for substance addictions and overdose prevention.
