Fredonia legion prepares for Memorial Day

The Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion Squad 59 gathered Saturday morning to plant flowers at Post 59 for Memorial Day. This week, members of Sons of the American Legion Squad 59 and Post 59 worked together placing American Flags on veteran’s graves at Forest Hill, St. Joseph’s and St. Anthony’s. Pictured in front of sign with the newly planted flowers are, from left, Auxiliary members Stacey Erick, Lin Liedke and SAL 59 Commander Rod Dziduch. The flowers were donated by Barnes Greenhouses.

American Legion Post 59, 156 E. Main Street, Fredonia, will host the following events on Memorial Day:

— 9 to 10 a.m., coffee and doughnuts.

— 10 a.m., Memorial services at Post 59.

— 11 a.m., services at Fredonia Place.

— 11:45 a.m., services at Concord Estates.

— 12:30 p.m., services at Village Hall.

— 1 to 3 p.m., hot dogs and hamburgers at the post.
