Anderson-Lee Library lists coming reading events

SILVER CREEK — Anderson-Lee Library, at 43 Main St., has announced programming for the months of July and August. Join us for programs related to our Summer Reading theme of Adventure Begins at Your Library! Programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required unless stated otherwise, to ensure enough seating and materials for all patrons attending the program.

To register for programs, call the library at 716-934-3468, stop by 43 Main Street, message us on Facebook, or visit www.andersonleelibrary.org and click on our events tab for easy online registration. You can also sign up for email/text reminders when you register online!

The library will be closed Thursday, July 4 for Independence Day.

— Homemade Lanterns, Tuesday, July 2 at 6pm. Create a simple lantern to use as a decoration, take on an evening walk, or use at your campsite! All ages welcome. Please register so that enough supplies are prepared for the event.

— Lego Club for ages 5-12, Saturday, July 6 at 10:30am. Build the challenge of the day, pick a challenge card or free build. Your choice! Limit of 10 children and pre-registration is required.

— Intro to Knitting for Ages 7-11, Monday July 8 at 6pm. Registration is required and space is limited. Come learn how to Knit! All supplies provided.

— Fun and Easy Camping Food, Tuesday, July 9 at 6pm. We will be making and tasting some quick and easy treats for camping. All ages are welcome. Please register so that enough supplies are prepared for the event.

— Geocaching Storytime with Barb and Gracie, Thursday, July 11 at 10:30am. Our special guests today will share with us their love for geocaching. Registration is appreciated.

— Intro to Crochet for Ages 7-11, Thursday, July 11 at 6pm. Registration is required and space is limited. Come learn how to Crochet! All supplies provided.

— Knit a Freezee Pop Koozie for Ages 7-11, Monday, July 15 at 6pm. For those who have taken the intro class offered earlier or for those who already know how to knit. Registration is required and space is limited. All supplies provided.

— Camping Bingo, Tuesday, July 16 at 6pm. All ages are welcome to join us for a few rounds of camping themed Bingo. Prizes and snacks will be provided. Please pre-register.

Storytime, Tuesday, July 18 at 10:30am with Miss Amy and Miss Jill. For ages 3-12. We will explore friendship and make our own imaginary friend! Registration is appreciated.

— Crochet a Freezee Pop Koozie for ages 7-11, Thursday, July 18 at 6pm. For those who have already taken the intro class or already know how to crochet. Registration is required and space is limited. All supplies provided.

— Storytime for All, Thursday, July 23 at 6pm. Join us for a combination storytime and collaborative art project! We will read the book “Bear Came Along” and then create a large diorama of the artwork.

— Storytime with Environmental Conservation Officer Nate Mead, Thursday, July 25 at 10:30am. Join us for a nature themed storytime! For ages 3-12 and preregistration is appreciated.

— Knot Tying for All Ages, Tuesday, July 30 at 6pm. Come practice and learn new knots for all of your summer adventures!

— Storytime with Miss Jill, Thursday, August 1 at 10:30am. For ages 3-12.

— Intro to Knitting for ages 12-15, Monday, August 5 at 6pm. Registration is required and space is limited. Come learn how to Knit! All supplies provided.

— Intro to Crochet for Ages 12-15, Thursday, August 8 at 6pm. Registration is required and space is limited. Come learn how to Crochet! All supplies provided.

Reading Logs Due August 5-10. Please drop off your completed reading logs during open library hours to be entered into the grand prize drawing!

— Last Bite of Summer, Thursday, August 29, 6-7pm. Join us for treats to eat, a scavenger hunt, sidewalk chalk art, and more! For all ages and registration is appreciated to ensure enough food and supplies for all.

— The Secret Society of the Twisted Stitchers: Fridays from 2-4pm. This club is for all who love handiwork. Ages 10 and older and all skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own supplies. Just getting started? For knitting, bring size 10/10.5 bamboo needles and a light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). For crochet, bring a size H hook and light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). Come and learn or come and work on a project with others who love to knit, crochet, embroider, quilt etc.! No registration required. You do not need to commit to each week to attend. Please stop in and stitch!

— Chess Club: All skill levels are welcome to attend Chess Club! We will meet on Fridays from 2-3pm. For ages 10+ and registration is not required. Please stop in and play!

Anderson-Lee Library is open to the public Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m, Friday noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library is closed Wednesday and Sunday.
