Interact club helps in community

For some high school students spring is the time of fun, parties and outdoor amusement. But for the Brocton Interact Club, it is also a time to show caring concern for the community. This community minded club has partnered with Greystone Nature Preserve for over eight years in community minded projects. Recently, on a refreshing spring day, they offered their service to Greystone Nature Preserve for the purpose of nurturing trees, establishing watering systems, and doing an Adopt-a-Highway along two miles of Bear Lake Road. The collected litter has been recorded and disposed of properly. Many items found along the way could be recycled such as bottles and cans. Four times a year Greystone Nature Preserve takes on the responsibility of collecting litter through the New York State Adopt a Highway Program. Greystone Nature Preserve is a not for profit agency with two missions. First is preserving 72 acres of the escarpment, removing invasive plants and planting native trees and shrubs. The second mission is to offer experiential environmental education to community members of all ages and ability levels. For further information please see the website: greystonenaturepreserve.com.
