Dunkirk schools announce new hires
The Dunkirk Board of Education approved some more new employees at its most recent meeting.
Four teacher’s aides were hired. Magali Bautista, Mariah Glowniak and Karla Santos were hired for the secondary school, while Sierrah Torres was named an intermediate school aide. All are Dunkirk residents.
In addition, Angel Martinez-Mendoza was brought on as a community school assistant for School 5, while Sixto Rosario has become a secondary school cleaner. Rosario resigned as a teacher’s aide at the school. Finally, Josephina Vega is now a community school assistant at the intermediate school.
Martinez-Mendoza, Rosario and Vega are also Dunkirk residents.
Also, Amanda Gornik of Eden was hired as a secondary school health teacher.
Ghufran Al Quraishi and Elsie Solares got hired as substitute teacher aides. Solares was formerly a full-time aide at School 7 but resigned. Al Quraishi also got a gig as a School 7 school monitor.
