Bird, Lee face off for Pomfret seat

David Bird and Michael Lee are squaring off for a town of Pomfret board seat in the November election.

Bird is endorsed by the Republican and Conservative parties. Lee is backed by the Democratic and Working Families parties.

They are seeking to fill a seat opened by Brett Christy’s resignation in October 2023. John Sedota — who had just lost his own board seat after finishing last in a three-way race — was tapped by town officials in November 2023 to take Christy’s place on the board, until the spot gets filled via next week’s election.

Bird served a two-year term on the Fredonia Board of Trustees. He lost his re-election bid in 2023.

Lee is a social worker and enhanced multi-disciplinary team coordinator for the Center for Elder Law and Justice. This is his first run for political office.

Starting at $3.50/week.
