SILVER CREEK — The 2025 Music in the Park lineup has been announced by the Village of Silver Creek. Beginning June 10 and ending Aug. 19, seven nights in the village will feature local bands, food trucks and vendors for residents and guests to enjoy. Open containers are permitted in the Ball Park during the events.

The concert series kicks off with Barnstorm on June 10, followed by Midnight Recovery on June 24. At the village’s annual fireworks display on July 3, 2nd Time Around Band will perform at Borrello Park on Front Street. Party McFly takes the stage on July 8; July 22 features Crash Cadillac; Furious George performs Aug. 5; and Ion Sky finishes out the season on Aug. 19.

All seven concerts are held from 6 to 9 p.m., with all six aside from the July 3 fireworks celebration to be at the Village Ball Park. Classic Cruise Night is set for July 22 as Crash Cadillac performs, but classic cars are welcome and encouraged at each of the events. The annual tradition of a First Responders Night is June 24 as Midnight Recovery performs.

Also regarding first responders in the village, a joint public hearing will be held Tuesday, May 27 at 7 p.m. at Silver Creek Central School for the purpose of establishing a fire district between the Sunset Bay and Silver Creek fire departments. Silver Creek Fire Chief Brandyn Griewisch spoke at a recent Village Board meeting to assure residents that the department they have come to know will not be diminished by the action.

“Even though we’re forming a joint fire district, it doesn’t mean we’re going anywhere,” Griewisch said. “Silver Creek Fire Department is still going to be here. We’re still going to do all the same things we did. … We’re still the same fire department, we’re still the same people. All we’re going to do is pool our resources a little bit better.”

Also of note, the Village of Silver Creek received funding from the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) of funds to purchase picnic tables for the proposed Victory Garden at the site of the old Revere Inn. NCCF has awarded $1,500 toward the purchase of three picnic tables. Deputy Mayor Kathy Tampio expressed gratitude for the funding provided by NCCF. Site work at the Victory Garden has begun.

The next Mobile Food Pantry event, sponsored by the Silver Creek Food Pantry, the Village of Silver Creek, and Feedmore WNY, will be on Tuesday, May 27, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., at the village municipal parking lot. The event is free of charge to residents of Silver Creek and other nearby communities.

The next regular meeting of the Silver Creek Village Board is Monday, May 19 at 7 p.m. at the Village Hall.

Starting at $3.50/week.
