The Town of Hanover authorized Barton & Loguidice, in collaboration with Imagine Forestville, to apply for $500,000 in financial assistance through the 2025 Consolidated Funding Application under the New York Main Street grant program. Areas of renovation would include the Main Street region of the hamlet, including Lodi and Pearl Streets, along with Water Street.
Before those potential renovations might occur, another area of Forestville is in line for improvements. The next regular meeting of the Hanover Town Board will take place at Bicentennial Park, 611 King Road in Forestville. The park has undergone significant renovations in the past few years, and even more improvements are on the way.
At its latest meeting, the Town Board passed a resolution to seek bids, quotes and/or proposals for an outdoor building addition at Bicentennial Park. Bid specifications are available at the Town Clerk’s Office.
Last summer, the Town Board held a meeting at Bicentennial Park for a dedication in honor of Henry Van Curen, who donated the land to the town in 1975. At the dedication, a new pavilion and indoor facilities were unveiled.

Since then, grant funding was sought to install a playground and further expand the facilities. The latest request for bids would add on to the facility that was unveiled last year.
The next Town Board meeting will take place at Bicentennial Park at 7 p.m., Monday, July 28. A workshop will be held prior to the regular meeting, at approximately 6:30 p.m.
“I think it’s a great opportunity for residents to see all the work that’s been done up there,” Deputy Supervisor Bernie Feldmann said.
