Forestville grants tenure to four teachers

FORESTVILLE — Four members of the Forestville Central School District received tenure at the final Board of Education meeting of the school year.

Elementary Teachers Monique Cleary and Samantha Slate have earned tenured positions at Forestville Elementary School. Jon Feniello and Bridget Feyes have earned tenured positions at Forestville Middle/High School in the Social Studies tenure area. All four tenure appointments are effective Sept. 1.

While four teachers were granted tenure, another teacher is on the way out. Haley Broyles has resigned from a Science Teacher position, effective June 30. The Board also terminated the long-term substitute employment of Special Education Teacher Grace Sipos, effective June 30. Sipos will remain as a district substitute.

The Board of Education appointed six substitutes: Andrea Caccamise, Connor Heidel, Antonio Patton, Isabel Prinzi, Susan Styborski, and Nicole Thompson. Ronald Duliba Jr. was approved as a volunteer boys basketball coach. Austin Pierce was approved as a coach with the varsity football program hosted by Silver Creek.

The Board also approved annual stipends for the District Clerk ($4,750) and Central Treasurer ($2,000) for the 2025-2026 school year. Agreements with the Forestville Teachers’ Association for the removal of the Middle School Newspaper, the establishment of a Home Economics Coordinator with an annual stipend of $500, and the establishment of a Unified Sports Coordinator for Bocce with an annual stipend of $750 were also approved.

The Unified Bocce Team will be hosted by Silver Creek in 2025-2026. The Board also authorized an agreement with BOCES for Driver Education programming, as well as an agreement with Management Advisory Group Special Services for STAC services for the 2025-2026 school year. An agreement to enter into a data privacy agreement with RIC ONE Risk Operations Center was also approved.

Two international trips were approved for the Spanish Club to visit Europe in 2027 and 2028. The Board also accepted donations from the Sports Boosters to benefit the Varsity Softball Team in the amount of $1,000 from Mark Woolley and $300 from the Kosciuszko Polish Home.
