Class of 1965 gathers

The Silver Creek Class of 1965 celebrated their 60th reunion on July 25 and 26. The event kicked off Friday evening at the home of Carol and Joe Calarco, where Marty Link led a prayer of thanks. Guests enjoyed cold beverages, pulled pork sandwiches with homemade coleslaw, chicken wings, pizza, and a variety of appetizers and desserts. Class adviser Wayne Hotelling and his wife, Elaine, one of the last living advisers from their high school years, also attended. On Saturday, the reunion continued at Russell Joy Park with a catered meal from Super Duper Catering. Joe Calarco gave a blessing before the meal, which included beef on weck, grilled chicken, Caesar salad, bacon ranch pasta salad, and fruit salad. Dessert was a special Black Knight Cake by the Cakery, complemented by flowers from Marcia Hughes Conny. A moment of reflection followed as Nance Ortolano read the names of deceased classmates, allowing attendees to honor their memories. Mike Comerford gave a heartfelt memorial, and Nance Ortolano created a wreath featuring their senior class photos.

Starting at $3.50/week.
