Patterson Library’s Benefit Auction, Chicken BBQ returns

Patterson Library Director Megan Hegna stands beside some of the preview raffle baskets for the library’s Annual Benefit Auction to be Wednesday, Aug. 20.

Mark your calendars for a lively evening of food, friends, and fundraising at Patterson Library’s Annual Benefit Auction and Chicken BBQ, taking place on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at Eason Hall, 23 Elm St. in Westfield. This beloved community event brings together supporters of the library for a fun-filled night in support of local literacy, learning, and culture.

Dinner will be served starting at 5 p.m., featuring the ever-popular Chiavetta’s Chicken BBQ. Tickets are $15 and are available now at the library — but act fast, as they may sell out before the event! Water and a dessert buffet will be provided in Eason Hall. Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages (B.Y.O.B.).

New this year: a Basket Raffle featuring a wide array of themed baskets and bundles. A preview selection is currently on display at the library for early bidding. Additional baskets will be revealed and available for bidding the night of the event. Raffle tickets will be available for $2 each.

The highlight of the evening, the Live Auction, begins at 6:30 PM and will feature a unique mix of items and experiences–including handyman services from Tim Roets, family photography session from Lindsay Kaufman, dinner packages from Johnson Estate Winery, and much more.

The Auction Committee is currently accepting donations through August 18. Contributions may include themed baskets, individual items to be added to bundles, or experiences and services for the live auction. Community members and businesses are encouraged to participate in making this year’s event a success.
