Red, White and Blues weekend set for village

Volunteers of Festivals Fredonia are pictured in the Red White and Blues attire.
Festivals Fredonia will host its annual Red, White and Blues Festival in Fredonia this weekend.
The two-day music event, sponsored by Fredonia Beaver Club, Southern Chautauqua FCU and DFT Communications, takes place throughout the village of Fredonia at various bars, restaurants and in Barker Common. The event showcases the area’s local wine industry, hence the “Red” and “White,” along with various local “Blues” artists.
The festival is expecting to showcase the talents of 12-plus different blues performers this year. Starting Friday, “uptown” performances will occur at the Fredonia Memorial Post 59 American Legion and Fredonia Beaver Club.
On Saturday, “downtown” events take over Barker Commons, which will feature the Fredonia Farmers’ Market in the east side of the park, in addition to food trucks/vendors, craft and wine vendors and basket/gift certificate raffles throughout the day in the west side of the park and the downtown area.
The opening act on Saturday in Barker Common is the Patti Parks Band, followed by headliner GROSH. Both bands are from the Buffalo area and should attract a great crowd.
Throughout the day on Saturday, live music will be featured at various downtown Fredonia bars and restaurants starting at 1 p.m. There will be live music every hour or half-hour at a different downtown venue.
Pick up a commemorative T-shirt at the Fredonia Beaver Club on Friday night or in Barker Common on Saturday at the Festivals Fredonia tent. Festival organizers will also sell commemorative plastic drink cups, commemorative koozies, guitar key chains and several other merchandise items from festivals past.
Pick up a rack card indicating where the bands will be playing and/or scan the QR code for venue detail and the official map.
There will also be a 9/11 memorial motorcycle run and fundraiser Saturday to benefit the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Registration starts at 9:15 a.m., with kickstands up by 10 a.m. Riders will visit various Chautauqua County locations and meet back at the Fredonia Post 59 American Legion for lunch and in time to see GROSH perform. Registration is $15 per rider, $5 for additional riders, and includes lunch and a beverage after the event.
