The building of a former Jamestown tool & die company has been sold after the business closed earlier this year.

The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from Aug. 11-15.

During this time period, Hytech Tool & Die Inc. sold 2202 Washington St., Jamestown to JMI Properties, LLC for $277,500.

Plastics News, which covers the business of the global plastics industry, reported on May 7 that after 37 years in business, Hytech Tool & Mold Inc. was closing its doors. “Owner Bill Swanson has decided to retire, and the Jamestown, N.Y., company will liquidate all assets in a public auction,” the trade newspaper wrote.

In a separate sale, Chautauqua Star Company, Inc. of Lakewood sold 99 Institute St., Jamestown to North Pond Ventures, LLC for $292,000. This is the location of Borsari Food Co. No changes in operation have been announced.

Including the sales previously mentioned, from Aug. 11-15 there were 13 sales that were $250,000 or higher. The remaining top sales are as follows:

– Three parcels totaling around 103 acres on Farrington Hollow Road, Cherry Creek sold for $965,000.

– 2726 Shadyside Road, Mina sold for $725,000.

– 4182 Lawson Road, Busti sold for $400,000.

– 2273 Thornton Road, Charlotte sold for $386,500.

– 6082 Floral Ave., Point Chautauqua, Chautauqua town sold for $360,000.

– 34 Parkdale Drive, Jamestown sold for $345,000.

– 1508 Goshen Road, Harmony sold for $278,000.

– 3582 Rt. 20, Sheridan sold for $274,900.

– 4927 Marshall Ave., Ellery sold for $265,000.

– 3830 E. Ross Mills Road, Ellicott sold for $256,500.

– A 5.8 acre parcel on Hagerdon Hill, Ellington sold for $255,000.
