A former restaurant in the town of Ellery has been sold.

The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from Aug. 1-8.

During this time period, Chautauqua Inns, LTD of Mayville sold 5030 Rt. 430, Ellery for $160,000.

Real estate websites described the property as a former restaurant and motel building, which could be used as a homestead, hobby farm or investment property.

At one time a sign on the property called it the “Hot Fish Shop.” Another website previously listed it as “Kadan’s Restaurant.”

In a separate sale, Unit No. 1-A, 14 South Lake Drive Condominium, Chautauqua Institution was sold for $1.3 million. This was the highest sale during this time period,
