Scout Troop 267 of Fredonia, hosted by American Legion Post 59, celebrated a successful summer at its Court of Honor ceremony in August. The event highlighted achievements from the Troop’s July summer camp at Beaumont Scout Reservation in Rock Creek, Ohio, and formally recognized Scouts and leaders for their accomplishments.
This summer, 18 scouts and six leaders attended camp, where they earned dozens of merit badges, advanced in rank, and received special awards. Highlights included Camper of the Week awarded to Finn Johnson, and the Wings of Leadership Award earned by Tanner Damon.
Merit badge achievements spanned a wide range of interests, from science, engineering, and technology to outdoor survival, leadership, and the arts. During the ceremony, Scouts were formally recognized: Eben Wille advanced to the rank of Scout, while Finn Johnson (Gold Palm) and Ralphie Mueller (Silver Palm) received Eagle Palms.

The Court of Honor also recognized the adult volunteer leaders whose dedication ensures the Troop’s success. Special appreciation went to Joe and Carrie Mueller for their years of service as Scoutmasters. Looking ahead, Mike O’Dell and Becky Schafer will step into leadership roles.
Additionally, Chris Eichmann was honored for more than 30 years of service, including his time as Scoutmaster (2010-2017) and Unit Treasurer (2017-2025). He continues to serve as the Troop’s Chartered Organization Representative, a role he assumed in January 2025.

Troop 267 also announced upcoming community events in support of Scouting:
— Applebee’s Pancake Breakfast – Saturday, Nov. 8 from 8 to 10 a.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance from local Scouts or at the door.
— Annual Popcorn Sale Fundraiser, which runs through Oct. 19. Community members can support the Troop by purchasing popcorn directly from Scouts.
