Village hears latest on fiscal coffers
The village of Fredonia’s general fund is more than $3 million above water early in its 2025-26 fiscal year.
Treasurer Erlyssa LeBeau gave a report about village revenues and expenses at Monday’s Board of Trustees meeting. She said Fredonia’s general fund has seen revenue of $5,968,690 against expenses of $2,931,121, for a net income of $3,037,569.
Fredonia’s fiscal years begin on June 1. Mayor Michael Ferguson asked LeBeau to point out that the village is currently in the second month of the second quarter of its fiscal year.
The general fund was “in the red” on September-only transactions. It took in $192,472 in revenue for the month against $408,479 in expenses, for a negative net of $216,007.
Fund balance stands at $2,092,471.
LeBeau also offered updates on Fredonia’s water and sewer funds. Both have negative net incomes for the fiscal year to date.
The water fund has revenue of $691,520 and expenses of $836,588, for a total of minus $145,068. The sewer fund expenses stand at $701,744, with total revenue of $612,071, resulting in a negative net income of $89,673.
Fund balance for the water fund is at $142,695. The sewer fund has $747,329 in fund balance.
For September only, the water fund had $237,456 in expenses versus $160,408 in revenue, a negative income of $77,087. The sewer fund ran $130,357 in revenue and had $118,407 in expenses for a positive net of $11,950.
