A downtown Westfield business building has changed owners.

The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from Sept. 1-8.

During this time period, 65 E. Main St., Westfield was sold to Main Stay of Westfield, LLC for $410,000.

This is the location of Weed Ross Insurance.

In 2024, Weed Ross acquired the Bristol Burgess Agency, which has been in Westfield for 75 years. When the acquisition was announced, it was stated that the plan was to keep the same staff and location.

The highest sale during this time period was 30 Howard Hanson Ave., Chautauqua Institution, which sold for $1,384,500. It is described as a five bed, four bathroom private residence.

Including the sales previously mentioned, from Sept. 1-8 there were nine sales that were $250,000 or higher. The remaining top sales are as follows:

– 8173 Shumla Road, Pomfret sold for $400,000.

– 11 Webster St., Lakewood sold for $340,000.

– 9658 Prospect Rd., Villenova sold for $320,000.

– Condominium Unit No. C-2, Chautauqua Lake Estates, Chautauqua town sold for $320,000.

– 4 Packard Garden Court, Lakewood sold for $287,500.

– 2533 Sunnyside Road, Mina sold for $265,000.
