SILVER CREEK — It is never too late in the school year to find the right person. Silver Creek feels like it did just that with its latest hire.
Lily Eager is the new middle/high school chorus teacher for the Silver Creek Central School District. Eager was appointed at the district’s recent Board of Education meeting and quickly got to work less than a week later.
Eager holds initial certification in Music K-12. Her appointment carries a four-year prohibitionary period, beginning at a prorated salary of $41,600. Eager attended the recent Board of Education meeting to witness her official appointment.
Superintendent Dr. Katie Ralston said to Eager, “It was wonderful to interview you and talk through your passion for music. We’re excited to have you start here. … I have no doubt at all that you’re a perfect fit for the Black Knight team.”
The district also granted tenure to Michael Jackson, a teaching assistant with Level 3 certification. Jackson was recommended for tenure by High School Principal Heather Krystofiak, who commended Jackson for his efforts not only as a teaching assistant, but also with the district’s technology assistance team.
“In every capacity, Mr. Jackson brings energy, skill, and a genuine desire to make a difference. I wholeheartedly support his tenure and look forward to many more years of collaboration and continued positive impact on our students and staff,” Krystofiak said in her letter of recommendation.
“It’s really awesome to be able to come back,” said Jackson, a Silver Creek graduate. “I’m glad I can be here and also be surrounded by some people I’ve grown up around and had a lot of influence from as a student here.”
The Board also appointed Mackenzie Elliott, Amy Bartell, Elicia Prinzbach, Laura MacLeod, and Courtney McIntyre as lunch interventionists for the 2025-26 school year. Carl Racinowski Jr. was approved as a substitute lunch monitor. Timothy Ippolito was appointed as a bus driver, at the rate of $23 per hour, on a one-year probationary appointment.
The Board accepted resignations from Russell Civiletto, a cafeteria monitor, and Sharon Huff, a long-term substitute. Huff will remain as an eligible substitute with the district. Kaylee Crisanti will also no longer serve as junior varsity girls basketball coach.
Two field trips were approved by the Board of Education, including the 2026 Senior Class Trip to Cedar Point and Kalahari Resort, May 21-22. An annual trip to Washington, D.C., for the Human Rights and Genocide Class was also approved for March 8-10. A conference request from Marc Bridon was also approved.
A resolution was passed declaring the proposed 2025-26 Capital Outlay Project as a Type II action, as the project – pertaining to flooring improvements – “does not constitute substantial changes to the existing facilities.” The Board also updated a series of district policies and approved several budget transfers.
The next meeting of the Silver Creek Board of Education is Thursday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m.
