New Little Free Pantry opens at library
Tyler Annis, director of Anderson-Lee Library, and Colleen McKenna, executive director of the Silver Creek Food Pantry, collaborated to create a little free pantry for their community.
SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Food Pantry and Anderson-Lee Library, both located in the village, have worked together to establish a Little Free Pantry, located in the lobby of the library, at 43 Main Street in the village of Silver Creek.
The Little Free Pantry will be open during library hours and is stocked with shelf stable food and personal hygiene items. When taking, there is a limit of five to six items. When giving, please make sure the item is unopened, not expired, and is a non-perishable item. Personal hygiene items are also accepted.
The library is open Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8pm, Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is closed Sunday and Wednesday. For more information about the library, stop in at 43 Main Street, call 716-934-3468, or visit their website at www.andersonleelibrary.org.
The Silver Creek Food Pantry is located at 260 Central Ave., Silver Creek (access thru the VFW parking lot) and is open Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon. The pantry is closed on major holidays and when the school district closes due to inclement weather. The pantry also has a wish list of items thru Walmart located here: https://tinyurl.com/scpantrywishlist.
For more information about the pantry, call 716-934-7642 or visit their Facebook page at https://tinyurl.com/SilverCreekFoodPantry.
Both the library and the food pantry hope this resource brings some comfort to those in need and becomes a way for others to give back as they are able.
