Sheridan thanks Feinen and Wik for service
Submitted Photo Councilman Richard Feinen, left, and Supervisor Tom Wik, right, were thanked for their service to the town of Sheridan with gifts at their final Town Board meeting.
SHERIDAN — Serving as a Board member is often a thankless job. Not in the town of Sheridan.
The Town Board thanked outgoing Deputy Supervisor Richard Feinen and Supervisor Tom Wik for their service to the town at the final meeting of 2025. Feinen and Wik both elected to not seek another term on the Board this upcoming year.
Both Feinen and Wik were a steadying presence on the Board in recent years, especially after the untimely death of former Supervisor John Walker in the summer of 2023. Feinen led the Town Board meetings as the acting Supervisor until Wik took over as Supervisor, a role he held for the past two years after residents elected him in November of 2023.
Wik, a Town Board member since 2017, said he was honored to be appointed as Supervisor.
Wik previously lived in Amherst before moving to Sheridan seven years ago. He is an engineer with over 30 years of experience in local government.
Feinen has carried on the family tradition of operating Feinen Farms, a staple of the Sheridan community for over 100 years. From roadside stands to Farmers’ Markets across northern Chautauqua County, Feinen Farms provides fresh fruits and vegetables to the community. Feinen Farms was selected as the Best of the Best Seasonal Farm Stand in Chautauqua County in 2025.
Moving forward, Stephen Roach will take over as Supervisor of the town. He ran unopposed for the role. Eric Gentry was elected to serve as a Councilman, while Craig Sutton was re-elected as a Councilman, as well.
