Charges pending after city check finds cocaine, methamphetamine

Charges are pending after a probation check last week led to the discovery of cocaine and methamphetamine in a Dunkirk residence.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department reported on Monday that a federal probation check was conducted at 128 S. Jerboa St., the residence of Christopher Torres, on Thursday. Assisting with the check were narcotics investigators from the office and the Dunkirk Police Department.
As a result of the check Investigators seized 33.2 grams of cocaine, 25.2 grams of methamphetamine, scales and packing material used in the sale and distribution of narcotics and $480.46 US Currency. Christopher Torres was taken into custody on the probation violation. The investigation is still ongoing with charges expected in the future.
