City man charged after narcotics investigation

A 45-year-old city man is facing charges after an investigation into narcotics activity Wednesday.

A search warrant was executed by Dunkirk Police Department as well as investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the Jamestown Police Department at 209 Lincoln Ave., lower apartment around 12:18 p.m. Just prior to the warrant being executed, investigators observed Fernando Martinez Jr. leave the residence.

Martinez was stopped a short distance from the residence by Dunkirk police. As a result of the search, investigators seized 13.74 grams of fentanyl, 11.29 grams of crack cocaine, 2.4 grams of methamphetamine, scales and packaging material used for the sale and distribution of narcotics and $677. Martinez was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

He was transported to the Dunkirk Police Department and arraigned in the City of Dunkirk Court.
