Dunkirk sets Town Hall meeting for April 22

Residents of the Town of Dunkirk are never shy to speak their mind on a number of issues in the town. Soon they will have a forum dedicated to just that.
The Town of Dunkirk will be holding a Town Hall meeting on April 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the West Town of Dunkirk Fire Hall, located at 4741 Willow Road. Town Hall meetings are held so that residents can speak in a workshop type atmosphere about events that affect the town and its residents.
Topics likely to be discussed include the current Town Hall building, shared services, mergers, and consolidation talks that have been taking place, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and input from the community regarding a five-year plan for the town. The Town Board is expecting County Executive PJ Wendel to attend the meeting to be part of the discussion.
Supervisor Shari Miller stated, “This is the first Town Hall meeting that I will be holding as Supervisor. I am excited to share the energy of our Town Board and to hear comments from our residents of the current events that are taking place in our area.”
Hoping for a great turn out, it was decided by the Town Board at its last meeting to move the Town Hall meeting next door, as the Fire Department has a larger room to meet in.
Miller extends the invitation to all residents. “Stay for an hour or two and let’s talk,” she said.
