SHERIDAN — The newest water district in the town of Sheridan is nearing construction. S. St. George Enterprises will be starting construction on Sheridan’s Water District No. 4 project in mid-to-late March.
While the Town had not applied for the bond pertaining to the project as of its last Board meeting, Town Attorney Jeff Passafaro stated the progress is moving forward. CPL: Architecture-Engineering-Planning put together packets detailing the project, which will be distributed to residents of the new district.
An open house forum will be held on April 3 at the Sheridan Community Center for residents of Water District 4 to ask representatives from CPL any questions they may have regarding the project.
At the latest meeting of the Town Board, 68 Neptune T-10 RF water meters and 68 external antennas for meter pits for Water District #4 were purchased at a cost of $25,682.76. Additionally, 12 Neptune T-10 RF water meters were purchased as spares for future use by CBI at a cost of approximately $4064.40.
Regarding another project in Sheridan, according to Highway Superintendent Jeff Feinen, the Town will be ready to bid beams for the South Roberts Road Bridge repair within the next month. Feinen reported to the Town Board at a recent meeting that the road will be closed for roughly two months as the bridge is repaired.
Also of note, Feinen has received several complaints of drainage issues along Route 20. The road falls under jurisdiction of the State Department of Transportation, and Feinen has been in contact with State representatives. He reported that a plan to mitigate the concerns is being designed.
The Town Board also appointed Jasmine Swartz as Youth Recreation Director at a salary of $10,500. Katie Tempski was appointed as a Part-time Court Clerk at an hourly wage of $25.
The Zoning and Planning Board were authorized to join the New York Planning Federation for the purpose of training at a yearly cost of $295. The Board also renewed its annual membership with Southern Tier West, including website maintenance, at a total cost of $600.
The next meeting of the Sheridan Town Board will be on Wednesday, March 11 at 7 p.m. at the Sheridan Community Center.
