Silver Creek looks to fill several vacancies
SILVER CREEK — Following several recent resignations, the Silver Creek Central School District is seeking to fill a handful of vacancies within the district.
Currently, the district is accepting applications for a Chemistry/Physics Teacher; a High School Technology Teacher; a School Psychologist; and an Occupational Therapist. All of the roles require an active New York State certification.
The district is also accepting applications for School Bus Drivers, Bus Driver substitutes, Bus Monitors, Lunch Monitors, and Lifeguards. Substitutes for roles throughout the district are accepted year-round, as well. Applications are available online at the district website, silvercreekschools.org/page/vacancies.
At the latest Board of Education meeting, Tyler LoTempio resigned from the role of Chemistry/Physics Teacher, effective March 25, and Emily Snyder resigned from the role of Occupational Therapist, as of April 20. At the previous Board meeting, Justin Cerne resigned from his role as High School Technology Teacher, effective March 26. Additionally, Carl Racinowski Jr. resigned from the role of Bus Driver and Cafeteria Monitor.
Also at the latest Board meeting, Toni Kelley was appointed as a lunch monitor. Michelle Leone was granted permanent status as a teacher aide. Lillian Hoffman was approved as a student teacher under the direction of Marc Bridon. Simon Davis and Andrew Kennedy were appointed as substitute teachers, and Miranda Royce was appointed as a substitute cleaner.
A series of policies were approved, as well, while five policies had their second readings. Four new courses were approved, including Sports Production; Money Matters: Financial Foundations; Personal Finance (JCC); and NYS Personal Finance and Economic Independence Mandate.
The Board cast its votes for Sylvester Cleary, Wendy Dyment, Aaron Richner, Mike Schenk, and Gregory Cole, of Silver Creek, to serve on the Chautauqua County School Board Association’s Executive Committee through June 30, 2028. A resolution for cooperative bidding through BOCES was also approved.
The next regular meeting of the Silver Creek Board of Education is on Thursday at 7 p.m.
