Dunkirk man charged after fentanyl, meth seized in Pomfret

An investigation into narcotics activity in Pomfret has led to the arrest of a Dunkirk man.
A search warrant was executed at 9:44 a.m. Tuesday by narcotics investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the Jamestown Police Department at 5341 Van Buren Road. Located inside the residence at the time of the search was Andrew S. Betts, 43.
As a result of the search, investigators seized 173.7 grams of fentanyl, 92.7 grams of methamphetamine, 37.5 dosage units of clonazepam, scales and packaging material used for the sale and distribution of narcotics and $1,182. Betts was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and first-degree criminal nuisance. Betts was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for the centralized arraignment program.
