Cassadaga man facing multiple child porn charges

Daniel "Danny" Wojcieszyn

A Cassadaga man is facing multiple child pornography charges.

In 2023, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into the alleged possession and promotion of child pornography. A suspect was identified and a search warrant was later executed on Barnum Road in Cassadaga. There was a large amount of electronic evidence collected, which was submitted to the Regional Computer Forensics Lab in Buffalo. The suspect and target of the search warrant was identified as Danny Wojcieszyn, 72.

In April this year, the Sheriff’s Office received the evidence related to this case back from the Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory and reviewed it. Following the review of the evidence extracted from the search warrant evidence, Investigators located a large quantity of images portraying children engaged in sexual performances.

As a result of this investigation, Wojcieszyn was taken into custody at a Dunkirk residence and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment Wednesday. Wojcieszyn was charged with 10 counts of promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child and 10 counts of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child. He will answer for his charges in the Chautauqua County Supreme Court at a later date.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said it remains committed to protecting children from online exploitation and holding offenders accountable. Working closely with local, state, and federal partners through the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office is utilizing advanced technology and any available investigative resources to identify, track, and arrest those who target children online. “The message is clear – people who exploit children will be found and brought to justice,” the department said.
