An iconic piece of the city of Dunkirk is celebrating a major anniversary.
The Dunkirk Lighthouse and Veterans Park Museum has opened for the 2026 Season. This season marks the 200th anniversary of an operating lighthouse on Point Gratiot. There are many exciting events going on as it starts the 42nd year of operation as a museum.
The 39th annual Memorial Day Service is being held at 8:30 a.m. on May 25. The annual Flag Day Ceremony will be on June 14 at 2 p.m. Sunset Yoga will be on Thursday evenings from June 4 to Sept. 24, Tuesday night yoga will be held starting on July 7 to Aug. 18.
Yoga will begin one hour before sunset, check our Facebook page (Dunkirk Lighthouse) for exact times.
The lighthouse will be hosting its first annual Crafts on the Lake Festival to celebrate the 200th anniversary on July 25 and 26. There will be craft and food vendors along with other activities and special pricing for tours of our museum.
There will be several public ghost tours throughout the season, Aug. 22, Sept. 26, Oct. 17, 24, 30, and 31. Tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased on our website: dunkirklighthouse.com or by stopping in the gift shop.
