The Dunkirk Fredonia Lions Club hosted the third annual Bowling for the Blind event recently at Lucky Lanes Bowling Alley on Route 60 in Fredonia. There were eight blind or visually impaired bowlers who were able to take advantage of the opportunity to bowl. Additionally, there were nine Lions Club members in attendance, including Zone Chair Lion Ann Aiken. Additionally, the club was pleased to welcome local students Lucas Davidson, Seth Davidson, and Kendall Ecknam who volunteered their time to guide the bowlers.
The event included bowling, pizza, and cupcakes. One of the bowlers, Mrs. Casey Willis, was celebrating her birthday. It was an enjoyable afternoon for all.
The Lions Club thanks Paul Nocek, of Lucky Lanes, for his assistance and donations to the event both this year and in the past that helped make it possible.
The Dunkirk Fredonia Lions Club, a group of men and women dedicated to humanitarian and community service, meets the 2nd Monday of each month.
