Five juveniles tied to break-ins at Dunkirk business

On two separate dates in May, the Dunkirk Police Department responded to investigate a report of breaking and entering at a commercial business on Franklin Avenue.

As a result of these investigations, five juvenile subjects, ranging in age from 13 to 17 years old, were determined to be responsible with the incidents. The actions of the juveniles significantly hampered the operations of Chautauqua Woods for an extended period of time.

In accordance with New York state laws and applicable guidelines governing juvenile offenders, the five have been charged with third-degree criminal trespass, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny.

Because of the ages of those involved, no further information regarding the juveniles or the investigation will be released.
