Fredonia’s Scout Troop 267 gathered on June 15, to celebrate the achievements and leadership of its members during a Court of Honor ceremony.
The evening began with opening remarks from Scoutmaster Mike O’Dell, followed by a flag ceremony, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the recitation of the Scout Oath and Law. An opening prayer was delivered by Walt Sedlmayer before scouts and families shared a potluck dinner. Senior Patrol Leader Max Kropp served as master of ceremonies.
A highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of rank advancements. Kam Johnson was recognized for achieving the rank of Life Scout, and Tanner Damon advanced to Star Scout. Additionally, Charlie Cinque and Tasha Kemp celebrated their advancement to the rank of Eagle Scout, a significant milestone representing years of dedication and service.
Scouts were also recognized for earning merit badges across a range of skill areas. Hunter Capps and Matthew Thompson earned badges in American Indian Culture and Plumbing. Tanner Damon earned merit badges in Family Life and First Aid, while Owen Lukach earned Camping, and Ben O’Dell completed Family Life.
The troop also acknowledged members of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s national honor society, for their commitment to service and leadership within the organization.
Outgoing youth leaders were recognized for their service over the past term. Max Kropp was honored for his leadership as Senior Patrol Leader, supported by Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders Tyler Field and Ben O’Dell. Other leadership roles included Finn Johnson as Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, Kam Johnson as Troop Scribe, Tanner Damon as Webmaster, and Eli Williams serving as Troop Guide. Additional leadership positions across patrols highlighted strong peer leadership throughout the troop.
New leadership appointments were also announced for the upcoming term. Jethduan Cordova-Olmo will serve as the next Senior Patrol Leader, with Tanner Damon and Owen Lukach stepping into Assistant Senior Patrol Leader roles. These transitions reflect the troop’s continued emphasis on youth leadership development and responsibility.
Troop 267 currently includes scouts at every stage of the Scouting journey, from new Scouts to Eagle Scouts, demonstrating a strong and active program. Members continue to advance, build skills, and contribute to their community.
Looking ahead, the 15 scouts and two leaders from the troop will participate in summer camp at Custaloga Town Scout Reserve from July 12 to 18.
Troop 267 encourages parents and community members to get involved by supporting local Scouts through volunteer leadership. Those interested are encouraged to contact Holly Field for more information.
