Three charged in Dunkirk narcotics investigation

Three city residents have been charged in connection with a narcotics investigation.
A search warrant was executed at 18 W. Beach Road, Dunkirk around 5 p.m. Thursday by officers from the Dunkirk Police Department and investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office. Located inside the residence at the time of the search warrant was Alexiss J. Matthews, 32, and Peter Galardo, 45.
As a result of the search Investigators seized 172.67 grams of methamphetamine, 6.58 grams of fentanyl, 34.8 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, scales and packaging material used for the sale and distribution of narcotics and $535. Matthews was charged with second, third- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Galardo was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Joshua A. Latona, 43, the owner of the residence, was charged with second-degree criminal nuisance.
Latona and Galardo were both issued appearance tickets and released. Matthews was transport to City of Dunkirk Police Department to be arraigned in the City of Dunkirk Court.
