Austin named Silver Creek Dean of Students

SILVER CREEK -- For nearly two decades, Amanda Austin has been one of the most dedicated members of the Silver Creek school community. Now she has another title to add to her list of roles and accomplishments with the district.
Austin was recently named as the new Dean of Students for Silver Creek High School. That role will add on to her position as Native American Education Program Coordinator. Superintendent Dr. Katie Ralston and High School Principal Heather Krystofiak celebrated her appointment at a recent Board of Education meeting.
“I would like to thank the Board of Education, Dr. Ralston, Heather Krystofiak and the district administration for their confidence in me. I am truly honored to accept the role of Dean of Students while continuing to serve as the Native American Education Program Coordinator," Austin said. "I am grateful for the opportunity to continue supporting our students, staff, and families. I look forward to working together to ensure that every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. Thank you for your trust and support. It is an honor to serve this community, and I am incredibly proud to be a Black Knight.”
Austin replaces Kevin Rice as Dean of Students, as Rice retired from the district earlier this summer after 29 years. Having Austin fill the role moving forward ensures that students will continue to have a familiar face and trusted staff member in the role for years to come.
"For nearly 20 years, Silver Creek has been more than just the place where I work; it has been my home. I have had the privilege of serving in many roles throughout the district and watching generations of students learn, grow, and succeed. Those experiences have shaped who I am as an educator and leader," Austin said.
Krystofiak, who recently earned tenure as Principal of Silver Creek High School, said she was excited to work with Austin in an expanded capacity this upcoming year.
"I see a lot of great potential in Amanda Austin. I think she's going to be a wonderful team member to have, even further than she already has been," Krystofiak said.
