This year's annual Harbor Cruise was another tremendous success for the Lakeshore Street Rod Association and the community groups it supports. The event raised $10,000 in one day to benefit five local groups: Dunkirk-Fredonia Meals on Wheels, the Chautauqua County Veterans Endowment Fund, Lakeshore Humane Society, Spoke Folk of Dunkirk, and the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County.

All five organizations were presented with a check for at least $1,000. Carol Oliveira of Dunkirk-Fredonia Meals on Wheels accepted a check for $4,000; Lori Dispenza accepted a check for $3,000 on behalf of the Chautauqua County Veterans Endowment Fund; and $1,000 checks were presented to Kim Salerno of Lakeshore Humane Society, Richard Goodman for Spoke Folk, and Willow Dispenza, a member of the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County.

This year's Harbor Cruise featured more than 800 cars on display on what Street Rods President Dale Davis called "a perfect day at Point Gratiot Park" in Dunkirk in early July. This was the third straight year that at least $10,000 was raised for local causes at the Street Rods' annual event at Point Gratiot Park.

Davis thanked Sam Allessi for all the behind the scenes help, along with O’Reilly Auto Parts of Fredonia, Advance Auto Parts of Fredonia, and The Pour House, owned by Jen Sutton, for their generous donations. The Street Rods plan to support more local causes this winter for the holiday season.
