Krystofiak earns tenure as Silver Creek Principal

SILVER CREEK -- Over her tenure at Silver Creek Schools, from her time as Elementary Principal to her role now as High School Principal, Heather Krystofiak has always found a way to be exactly who Silver Creek needed. It isn't hard to see why the district rewarded her with tenure at its latest Board of Education meeting.
"She has brought Black Knight pride back to the high school," Superintendent Dr. Katie Ralston said. "Her tenure is so well-deserved."
Krystofiak, who possesses Initial Certification as a School Building Leader and Professional Certification in Childhood Education Grades 1-6, was appointed to a tenured position as Building Principal effective Aug. 8.
Ralston recommended Krystofiak for tenure to the Board. In her recommendation, Ralston called Krystofiak a "visible ambassador" of the district. "Her dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to excellence have helped strengthen the culture of our schools and position them for continued success. Regardless of the building level she leads, we are fortunate to have her in Silver Creek," Ralston said.
Ralston credited Krystofiak with mentoring fellow administrators within the district, as well as collaborating well with others. "She is respected as a leader among her peers and consistently contributes thoughtful perspectives that strengthen our collective work. She is not afraid to challenge 'group think', throw a new idea on the table, ask questions that need to be asked, and engage in difficult conversations. Her willingness to function in this manner only enhances the team dynamic," Ralston said.
Ralston concluded her recommendation of tenure for Krystofiak by stating, "I am confident she will continue to be an exceptional leader whose influence will positively shape the lives of students and the future of our district for many years to come."
Also at the recent Board meeting, the district welcomed Francesca Kobee as Silver Creek's new School Psychologist. Kobee holds provisional certification as a School Psychologist and will begin a four-year probationary period of employment on Sept. 1. Kobee will receive a salary of $46,500 for the 2026-27 school year.
Kobee is beginning her career as a School Psychologist with Silver Creek, but Ralston believes she already has a good understanding of what will be expected of her. "She understands our community. She understands our demographics. She's going to do excellent," Ralston said. "We want to grow the Black Knight story. I think it's pretty amazing when people can start their career story with us."
The district also said farewell to a longtime member of the Black Knight family, as Cara Rybak is retiring from the roles of Clerk II, Fitness Room Assistant, and Internal Claims Auditor, effective Sept. 8. Rybak has been at Silver Creek schools for 35 years. After spending more than half her lifetime with the district, Rybak said in her letter of resignation, "It is time to embark on another adventure."
The next Board of Education meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 13 at 6 p.m.
