SILVER CREEK — An accidental structure fire in the village was extinguished early Tuesday.
According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department, at 4:54 a.m., the Silver Creek Fire Department and several mutual aid departments responded to 330 Central Ave. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene to conduct an origin and cause fire investigation. Investigators were able to determine that the fire started as a result of the malfunction of a re-chargeable lithium ion battery pack.
All residents of the structure were reported out safely.
