Center’s monthly event music to area’s ears

A unique music venue is presented by Lake Shore Center for the Arts in Westfield and sponsored by the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation. Three professional musicians perform their original songs and share stories about their creative process.
The concerts are scheduled on the third Thursday of each month starting at 7:30 p.m. The Jacqueline Phillips Theater holds up to 40 seats for each performance, providing an intimate audience experience. Each musician plays their own original songs taking turns on the stage. They share the inspiration for their songs as well as their own professional performance stories. The audience has the opportunity to ask questions after the mid performance intermission.
Music is a newer venue to the Lake Shore Center for the Arts, and an addition to several existing programs including the international Juicebox One Act Play Competition. Since the first songwriters' event in the fall of 2024, Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation sponsorship has added the ability to attract local and regional artists, coming from Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, Ohio, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Delaware.
Anthony Merchant, the program director of Jamestown's own WRFA 107.9 airs a monthly highlight of the songwriter's event. He records every show and a compilation of the program is broadcast and streamed on WRFA at 8 p.m. on the last Saturday of each month.
The next event is scheduled for Aug. 20 at 7:30 p.m. and features Scott Reynolds, Holly Kluge and MYQ Farrow.
Scott Reynolds (Fredonia) has a 40-year music career beginning in Los Angeles in the punk rock band ALL. With ALL, as well as his other bands: Goodbye Harry (Washington), the Pavers (Buffalo) and now as a solo act, Scott has toured all over the world and recorded many albums.
Most recently, Scott writes and records solo with his nylon-string guitar and his acoustic, jazzy-crooner style. His latest album, Magic Beans & Time Machines, was released in 2024.
Scott is currently working on more solo music as well as touring and will be out on a west coast tour this September. He can be found on Facebook, Instagram, Bandcamp, and his website/store, scottreynoldsmusicart.com.
Holly Kluge (Rochester) The music of singer/songwriter Holly Kluge has been described as authentic and inspiring. Post COVID, her song "Happy Little Things" went viral, and has now been used in over 1 million Instagram reels/photos and streamed more than 4 million times on Spotify. Holly's music has been used in faith-based films (Marriage Retreat; This Is Our Time) and the comedy Christian TV show "The Church". Her song "Be Still" (found on her 2012 self-titled album) was chosen to be part of the 2013 SongDISCovery CD, a subscription service of Worship Leader magazine.
In 2016, Holly and her husband Dave recorded an acoustic EP together under their duo name "Fleeting Frame." Currently, Holly writes and records music both solo and with a local worship collective called People on a Hill, for which she also serves as the Director.
Holly is a nature-lover, coffee drinker, and paddle-boarding hobbyist. She lives in Rochester, NY with her husband and their two boys.
MYQ Farrow (Buffalo) is the dynamic lead singer of the Buffalo band Farrow and a magnetic creative voice in his own right. Blending vintage soul, folk storytelling, and modern rock flair, he delivers performances that radiate with passion and an Afrofuturistic cool.
As a songwriter and lyricist, Michael believes in music as a force for good - he writes empowering songs about community, love, and justice, all while upholding Farrow's mantra "Joy is Revolutionary."
Warm and welcoming on stage, MYQ F invites audiences of all ages to sing, dance, and share in the joy. Follow him (on Instagram at @fkaunicrn) and you'll find an artist who is equal parts soulful troubadour and energetic rocker, devoted to connecting people through the power of music and positivity.
