Multiple departments responded to 49 W. Fifth Street in Dunkirk overnight into early Tuesday morning for a structure fire at the corner of Canary Street. The Dunkirk Fire and Police Departments, as well as several other Fire Departments were on scene throughout the early morning Tuesday.
As the fire took place at a residence within sight of Dunkirk Intermediate School and within walking distance of Dunkirk High School, the Dunkirk Police Department urged residents to avoid the area, if possible.
According to the Dunkirk Police Department, updates will be made available when necessary.
